ResponsiveSince 2009, the Health and Welfare Department of the Canton of Berne, with the support of Health Promotion Switzerland, has been involved in the cantonal "Action Programme" for balanced nutrition, sufficient exercise and mental health among children and adults.
In winter 2018, we designed and implemented a new website. The new design was modernized and also optimized for tablets and smartphones.
As a WordPress web agency, we have greatly simplified the administrative effort and created many new possibilities via website. For example, events or excursion tips are now submitted directly by visitors and released after internal checks.
The core of the website is the blog, including topics such as balanced nutrition, exercise promotion and mental health. These contributions are clearly searchable by means of filters for the target group, which can also be submitted directly online and released after later review.
The entire website is also multilingual. German- or French-speaking browsers are automatically recognized and redirected to the corresponding translation.
One of the other special features of the new website is the extensive address directory. Using an Excel interface, we imported more than 200 addresses directly onto the website. It includes addresses on various topics and is searchable and filterable. The website automatically generates a printable version as PDF. These are also offered in German as well as in French.
Based on other cantonal programme sites, we already had concrete ideas and requirements for the new website: It should be easy to use, clear and modern. Thanks to the competent advice and creative approach of flink think GmbH, we now have a website that fully meets our requirements. We were not only able to replace our existing website, but to improve it significantly. Throughout the project, our change requests were handled quickly and reliably.

Thanks to Responsive Web Design, the new website is also optimally usable with smartphones and tablets. The underlying CMS WordPress enables the easy management of the complete web presence.
